Core Bank is kicking off our fourth annual Diaper Drive for Nebraska Diaper Bank! Nebraska Diaper Bank supplies diapers for families in need with children ages newborn to three across the state. 4500 children are served monthly by Nebraska Diaper Bank and 10,784 unduplicated children were served in 2023.
A diaper is a basic health need as essential to a baby’s health and well-being as shelter and clothing. Not only does a diaper keep the baby healthier, happier and help them sleep, it also reduces stress of the family unit. The mental health of a parent and child is surprisingly dependent on a steady supply of diapers. Diaper need has profound effects, that can last generations. There are no other safety net programs like SNAP, Medicaid and WIC to cover diapers. Diaper costs can represent up to 14% of a family’s budget.
Core Bank staff and customers will work together to raise diapers from November 1st – 30th. On Giving Tuesday, December 3rd we’ll be taking all the donated diapers to the Nebraska Diaper Bank.Last year, Core Bank collected 21,340 diapers that helped 355 babies for the Nebraska Diaper Bank! Our goal for 2024 is to collect 30,000 diapers.
Any monetary donations will be turned into the following diaper quantities:
$25 = 150 diapers helps 2 babies for a month
$50 = 300 diapers helps 4 babies for a month
$100 = 600 diapers helps 9 babies for a month
$150 = 900 diapers helps 1 baby for a year
We’ll also be accepting donations of packaged diapers at each of our Core Bank locations during this time. You can change your dollars into diapers here: https://nebraskadiaperbank-bloom.kindful.com/?campaign=1269253
Nebraska Diaper Bank helps distribute diapers to families through 37 partner agencies. “Because of the Diaper Bank our community members have one less thing to worry about. We have seen mothers come through our Catholic Charities pantry lines that denied their children anything to drink in order to save money on diapers. Because of our partnership with the Diaper Bank, our mothers can adequately nourish their children. In this way the Diaper Bank is addressing both food insecurity and diaper insecurity. Thank you!” – Partner Agency
