Newhouse in Kansas City was awarded the Core Bank Community Impact Award for the first quarter of 2024 with a gift of $5,000 to support their Childrens Programming including play therapy tools, off-site enrichment activities, updated classroom technology items, and funds to assist specifically with a seasonal camp. In 2022, Newhouse served over 120 children totaling over 12,000 hours of educational support and childcare.
Core Bank employees, friends, and family were “chilled” as they gathered on Saturday, February 10th, at Lake Zorinsky to partake in another year of the Special Olympics Nebraska’s Polar Plunge. There were over 892 plungers with all teams combined and over 50 on the Core Bank team. The water was frigid, but everyone’s excitement and adrenaline kept people running toward the goal of reaching the buoy mannequin into the cold waters and back to land.
Did you know that the U.S. ranks second highest in poverty rates among its peer countries? January’s Poverty Awareness Month is about taking an opportunity to learn more about this social ill, raise awareness among others, and understand how everyone can help. People are more inclined to participate in efforts to end such issues, and while their efforts alone might not be enough for complete eradication, awareness is an important first step.
The Set Me Free Project (SMFP) was awarded the Core Bank Community Impact Award for the last quarter of 2023 with a gift of $5,000. Founded in Omaha in 2015, the Set Me Free Project (SMFP) now reaches various communities outside of Nebraska, offering evidence-based, survivor-informed trafficking prevention curriculums tailored to its audiences.
Core Bank team members are making the season brighter for families in need. A team of “Santa’s Helpers” volunteered their time to organize a Christmas Families gift drive for families that Core Bank adopted and did additional shopping to add to the donations.

Core Bank held our Second Annual Core Bank Cares Golf Tournament on July 17 at Tiburon Golf Club. The goal of this tournament was to raise money for Humble & Kind, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing vital support to families in the Omaha community during times of extreme circumstances.
