Core Bank Team Participates in the Brush Up Nebraska Paint-A-Thon

Aug 27, 2014 | Community

As a part of Brush Up Nebraska’s Paint-A-Thon, a group of Core Bank employees helped to prep, prime, paint, and spruce up the home of a local homeowner in need.
The Brush Up Nebraska Paint-A-Thon is a community based volunteer program that paints the homes of low-income elderly and low-income disabled homeowners so that they may maintain their property, increase energy efficiency, and beautify the community. Painting their home creates a new sense of pride for the homeowners and benefits the area. Brush Up Nebraska serves the Omaha Metropolitan community area including: Omaha, Bellevue, Gretna, Elkhorn, LaVista, Ralston, Papillion, and Council Bluffs, IA.
The Paint-A-Thon is in its 26th year of serving the community. Brush Up Nebraska was established in 1989. In 25 years, over 2,578 homes have been painted by the volunteers participating in Brush Up Nebraska in the Omaha-metro area. This year, more than 1,800 volunteers came together to paint 78 homes in our community.
On August 14th, 12 Core Bank employees gathered for prep day to get everything cleaned, scraped and primed.  On Saturday, August 16th, 6 employees gathered to paint and stain the house and decks. Our team had so much fun, working together on this project, and we’ll look forward to serving again in 2015.
