Throughout August, Core Bank proudly hosted a Back-to-School Donation Drive to benefit Omaha Street School, a faith-based alternative high school dedicated to empowering at-risk youth in the Omaha community. Thanks to the generosity of our customers, employees, and local businesses, Core Bank’s Omaha Street School donation drive raised $1,000 in donations and collected a wide range of essential supplies to support students and staff.

Supporting Financial Literacy at Omaha Street School

Heather Seaman from Core Bank has been a longtime supporter of Omaha Street School and was the driving force behind launching Core Bank’s Omaha Street School donation drive in 2024. She also gives her time to teach financial literacy classes to OSS students, helping them prepare for their futures.

“Omaha Street School has been more than a partner—it’s been a purpose. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of teaching financial literacy courses to students who inspire me with their resilience and drive. The relationships built, the lives impacted, and the growth we’ve witnessed together are a testament to what’s possible when we invest in each other. OSS is a cornerstone of our community, and I’m proud to walk alongside them in building brighter futures.” – Heather Seaman, Director of Retail Banking

Heather also trains her employees to teach at OSS. With her encouragement and guidance, Banking Center Managers Courtney and Michael had recent opportunities to teach. They shared similar sentiments about the value and impact of their time teaching at Omaha Street School:

“Volunteering at Omaha Street School has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. These students are full of potential, determination, and heart. Teaching them financial literacy isn’t just about money—it’s about giving them tools to build the future they dream of. I’m honored to be a small part of their journey.” – Courtney Miller, Banking Manager at Headquarters

“Teaching finance at Omaha Street School is incredibly rewarding. Seeing those light bulb moments when students understand makes it all worth it.” – Michael Roth, Banking Manager at Granite Falls

A Community United for Education

We are incredibly proud of the Omaha community for coming together to support Omaha Street School. This donation drive is just one example of how Core Bank is committed to making a difference in the lives of local youth through education, empowerment, and community engagement.
