Fun-ism. From office bowling to candy grams. You gotta have fun.

The Urban Dictionary states that Fun-ism is “anything that can inspire joy or playfulness in the lives of others.  It’s about trying to make the world a happier place.”
So how do we put the F.U.N. back in our daily lives? I just came back from a conference where the keynote speaker was Paul Long, a Kansas City native. He was AWE. SOME. He spoke about getting out of your head, think bigger, stretch yourself and stop worrying about what everyone thinks. I immediately started thinking about how to incorporate more FUN at Core Bank. We’ve even formalized this process with a FUN Committee.

FUN IS IN OUR RECIPE FOR AWESOME. IT’S PART OF OUR CULTURE.

Here are a couple of ideas we had to bring the fun to our employees.

A Calendar of Events to celebrate specific Days! Holidays (National ones), Birthdays and Work Anniversaries, Fun Days – Donut day, Kindness day, Egg Nog Day
Candy Grams – giving kindness/appreciation to coworkers with candy and a note
Book Club
Brain Breaks – Dance party at 4:30pm, Quote of the Day – Motivational or Fun, Games – Wii bowling, putt – putt golf, corn hole, scavenger hunt
Happy Hours – Sonic Blasts, Starbucks outings, Ice cream trucks, Cotton Candy

OFFICE BOWLING WAS COMPETITIVE

HALLOWEEN IN THE OFFICE WAS A BLAST!

Every year Core Bank puts on a Halloween contest. Sometimes we have themes and other years we’ve left this up to each employee, group or branch.
Past themes include  movies/mini-series, candy bars and Jelly Belly Jelly Beans. This year there was no theme, just be creative. The voting categories for bragging rights were Best Group costumes, Best Individual costume and Best Decor. I think the Kansas City office represented well with Disney, Toy Story, The Incredibles, Neverland, and Alice in Wonderland.
