Rhythm & Recipes: Matt and Simone’s Story

Matt and Simone Weber, both Nebraska natives, moved to New York City in 2002 to pursue their passions. Matt pursued culinary arts and Simone pursued music. They returned to Nebraska in 2005 to start their family, and brought their combined skills and vision. That vision ultimately became Table Grace Ministries, culminating in the opening of the café in 2011.

Together, Matt and Simone represent the heart of the organization. Their talents complement one another and frequently converge—especially while performing music at the café.

Matt started a jobs program at the café—offering skills training and references for people seeking employment. Based off his Natural Gourmet Cooking School training, the focus is attendance, appropriate appearance, skills, workplace communication, and customer service. The program is geared toward people who have difficulty maintaining entry‑level employment or re-entering the workforce.

Everyone who walks through our door has something to offer. Sometimes they just need a little boost to figure out how to share their gifts with the community. We are thankful to Core Bank for helping us continue offering a hand up to our friends and neighbors here in Omaha
