Core Bank had the privilege of attending some fantastic networking events in Kansas City this past month.
The Vineyard
We started the month attending a wine event at Stone Pillar Vineyard & Winery. What a great local event space. Not only did we have good wine and great conversations, we also learned about another event for HR representatives called HR Roundtables held by the Olathe Chamber of Commerce. What a great value add, that I wasn’t expecting. Make sure you check out your local Chamber of Commerce event calendars for these educational events!
The Hangar
Next, we headed to another great venue… the Garmin Hanger for the Olathe Foundation Dinner. This was a hot event, and I’m not just talking about the weather. Garmin has some sweet jets. There was a silent auction, live auction, dinner, dancing and a photo booth. Even though I was outbid on all my items, I did get some great luggage tags for my next great trip…”Can I borrow the jet?”
The Culinary Center
To wrap up this month of terrific networking, we attended the National Association of Women Business Owners or NAWBO. This was their first ever Kansas City Women in Business Summit, and we were a proud sponsor. This sweet treat was held at the Culinary Center of Overland Park. We heard from some terrific key note speakers in the areas of marketing, finance and business development. We also learned how to wrap Vietnamese Spring Rolls and make liquor infused dark chocolate chocolate truffles…yummy! I’m a chocoholic, but I accidentally rolled my truffle in coffee sprinkles. Nope, I will stick with cocoa powder or white chocolate sprinkles please. We left this event with some great new friends and the recipes for all of the food that was cooked for us that day. Bonus!
These were great events and I look forward to another month of great venues, great relationship building and some fun take homes. If you are heading out and need a side kick… call me. I’ll bring the truffles!
