Core Bank Opens First Kansas Location

Company news from Core Bank

When Core Bank considers joining a community, we look for several factors: a healthy economy, an environment that fosters entrepreneurship, and small business growth. We’re happy to say we’ve found a community with those qualities in the Kansas City metro!

Today, we announce the opening of a new loan production office in Overland Park, KS, which will be our first branch outside of Nebraska. This location will specialize in business and SBA lending, and we have plans to launch a full line of banking services in the future.

Why are we opening a location in Kansas? Our CEO, John Sorrell, explains, “As we look at the big picture and at our strategic future, we know we want to expand our presence in the Midwest. We wanted to find the right opportunity within a few hours of our home base in Omaha, NE, and Kansas City presented the perfect opportunity.”

At Core Bank, our vision is to be a truly remarkable company that just happens to be a bank. To provide the personalized approach to banking we’re known for, we believe it’s important for our teams to live and work within the markets where are customers are. As John says, “We don’t judge our success on the size of our bank. We judge success by how we help our customers and the value we bring to them.”

That’s why our Kansas City team will be led by Jason Moxness, who will take on the role of Market President. Jason knows the Kansas City market well. Not only did he lead a team of top SBA Loan originators for five years, but he also brings 24 years of banking and lending experience to the table after working in leadership roles at small community banks and some of the nation’s largest banks. We believe he’s the perfect person to lead the charge in Kansas City.

“Core Bank brings a fresh perspective and a strong understanding for community banking and community lending to a market with primarily large national banks and lenders,” says Jason. “You won’t be calling an 800 line and sitting on hold. You can come in and talk with local bankers, underwriters, and account services.”

We look forward to building relationships with the Kansas City community and providing small businesses with the personalized attention they need to grow!
