Core Bank is proud to celebrate Women’s History Month in March and feature women making an impact at Core Bank throughout the month. Meet Cheryl Bettin, Trust Operations Officer. She is a rock star in improving processes, opening new client accounts and adding fun to the department. She also was recognized as a Core Code Ambassador in July 2022, demonstrating our Recipe for Awesome while making a positive impact on the Core Bank culture.
Cheryl has been at Core Bank for almost four years and she initially began her career in finance as she is detail-orientated and enjoys helping people. Wealth Management was the perfect place for her, working in a world that revolves around numbers and being able to help people manage their finances checked all the boxes.
Cheryl has many female role models and shared that she is lucky to be able to work with them every day. She said that being able to recognize that each team member brings unique qualities to the team, being a good listener, and realizing that there is more than one way to get something done are all important qualities of a successful leader.
She feels organizations can support and encourage women by helping them build confidence through continued education, formal or informal. They can also offer incentives that will encourage them to participate, such as financial assistance or compensation for time away from the office.
“Use your voice and don’t hesitate to respectfully offer your perspective when the opportunity presents itself, regardless of who is in the room,” Cheryl said.
